Palworld has sold over 4 million copies in just 3 days

Palworld was released at the end of last week, and it's already a massive success. After its first three days, Palworld sold 4 million copies and had over a million concurrent players online on Steam alone…

Pocketpair's new game is taking the gaming world by storm. In the first 8 hours after release, Palworld sold 1 million copies, increasing to 2 million after the first 24 hours since its release. However, it didn't stop there as the game kept selling very well, garnering 3 million copies in 40 hours. The last milestone the developer shared was at 4 million copies, which took just three days to achieve. Moreover, it also shared that, at a point, the game was selling 86,000 units an hour.

Considering the game is only available on PC (Steam and Windows Store) and Xbox Series X|S, that's very impressive. However, it's also worth noting that the game is available on Xbox Game Pass (PC, cloud, and console), which might inflate sales numbers depending on how the developer counts sold copies.

As if the number of copies sold and how fast it's reaching these milestones weren't impressive enough, the game had peaked at almost 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam alone (according to SteamDB). That puts it at the fifth highest concurrent player count of all time on Steam, just behind PUBG: Battlegrounds, Counter-Strike 2, Lost Ark, and Dota 2.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
