Ghost of Tsushima to get multiple films and TV shows according to movie’s director

Back in March of 2021 it was announced that a film based on the popular new PlayStation IP Ghost of Tsushima was in the works. Headed up by Chad Stahelski of John Wick fame, we have now gotten our first update on the project – including the fact that it may actually be multiple projects.

In an interview conducted by ‘comicbookmovie.com', Chad Stahelski – the director of all 4 John Wick films – was asked about how development has been progressing on his next project ‘Ghost of Tsushima’, to which Stahelski responded:

“That's something we're in heavy development on. I love the property, like, look, the game story of Jin Sakai, and it being what I would say is, quote, the most anti-samurai samurai movie out there because of the storylines. thematics in it, and the journey that Jin Sakai goes through from his transition to or his choices of who to become and what the people need him to become and what he honorbound should and is what needs to become is so interesting to me, like the story is definitely, the characters in the story are definitely something I don't want to lose in any way.”

Interestingly, Stahelski then suggested that the Ghost of Tsushima film might just be the first of many, adding “It's just the visuals I want to keep. It's just how do I pack that much information into a feature that can go on to other features or a TV project or platform for that. The trick is not do we have great material, we know we have great material. It's how to make it palpable in any platform, you know, how do we make a great two, two and a half hour movie out of this? Make it satisfying and leave it open to expand further from there, like that's the real challenge is how to take so much great and get it down to a watchable level.”

Last month, the anime-focused news account ‘oecuf’ leaked the fact that an anime based on Ghost of Tsushima is reportedly in the works. It is unclear whether Stahelski is attached to the anime in any way, or whether the two are entirely separate projects. Either way, if the Stahelski-directed film ends up being received well, we are likely to get much more from the world of Ghost of Tsushima.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
