Acer unveils the Nitro XV325QK V3 4K Mini LED display with dual-mode

Acer has introduced a new high-end gaming monitor, the Nitro XV325QK V3bmiipprx, offering a combination of stunning visuals and high-speed performance. This 31.5-inch display features a 4K Mini LED panel with HDR capabilities and Acer's DFR technology, allowing it to switch between high-resolution and high-refresh-rate modes.

As reported by DisplaySpecifications, the monitor uses a 31.5-inch IPS panel with a Mini LED backlight and 1152 local dimming zones. This allows for a pretty good HDR performance, hitting a peak brightness of 1000 nits and earning it a VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification. Colour reproduction is also a strong point, with the 10-bit panel covering 99% of both the Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 colour spaces.

The key feature for gamers is Acer's DFR (Dynamic Frame Rate) technology. This allows the monitor to operate in two distinct modes: 4K at 160 Hz or 1080p at 320 Hz. This is paired with a rapid 1 ms GtG response time (0.5 ms MPRT) and AMD FreeSync Premium support for smooth, tear-free gaming.

Connectivity is handled by two HDMI 2.1 ports, two DisplayPort 1.4 inputs, and a headphone jack. The monitor sits on a fully ergonomic stand offering height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments. The monitor is already on sale at Amazon.com for $609.

KitGuru says: With the immensity of new dual-mode monitors being introduced to the market, it looks like this will become the standard, at least for 4K gaming monitors.
