Take-Two hints at 2024 launch for Grand Theft Auto 6

At this point, Rockstar has been forced to acknowledge the existence of Grand Theft Auto 6 following a series of leaks that showed alpha gameplay. We still don't have a release date for the game yet, but the latest investor update from Rockstar parent company, Take-Two, gives us a pretty good hint that the game will be released in 2024.

In Take-Two's recent earnings report, the publisher predicts that it will hit a record high of $8 billion in net bookings during its 2024 to 2025 fiscal year, which runs from April 2024 to the end of March 2025. For reference, in 2022, Take-Two reported net bookings of $3.5 billion and in 2023, it was $5.3 billion.

Interestingly, Take-Two also says it expects to sustain this momentum in future years too. There are very few games on the market that could give a publisher this level of confidence in future financial success, and with Grand Theft Auto 6 being the follow-up to one of the highest-selling games of all time in GTA V, it seems likely that Take-Two has GTA 6 on its schedule for the next fiscal year.

Nothing has been officially announced yet and typically, Rockstar does like to announce its games around a year before launch, barring potential delays after the announcement, as we saw with Red Dead Redemption 2.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
