AMD reportedly set to launch Ryzen 7000 CPUs in September

Recently, AMD confirmed plans to launch the first Zen 4 processors in Q3 this year. Now, rumours point to a more specific launch date, with sources now claiming that Ryzen 7000 desktop processors will launch in mid-September with four SKUs planned – the 7950X, 7900X, 7800X and 7600X. 

Twitter leaker, @wxnod (via Wccftech), recently shared a photo of an AMD presentation taking place in China. In the photo, we can see some AMD marketing material, with one slide claiming a 15th of September launch date for AMD's next-gen processors and motherboards.

Another leaker, Greymon55, also shared some new details, claiming that the Ryzen 7000 series would debut with four SKUs – the 7950X, 7900X, 7800X and 7600X. This is the same launch strategy that AMD used with the Ryzen 5000 series, before introducing additional SKUs in the months following launch.

The Ryzen 9 7950X will presumably be the flagship processor. Rumours claim this chip will feature 16 cores and 32 threads. AMD has also claimed that the new Ryzen processors should be able to hit well above 5GHz speeds, possibly reaching as high as 5.5GHz.
