Mystery GPU runs at 3GHz in Time Spy Extreme & scores 20K points, probably RTX 4090

A while ago we heard reports the RTX 4090 would score over 19K points in Time Spy Extreme. That was already a significantly higher score than the likes of the RTX 3090 Ti, but it seems the original estimate may have been slightly conservative. New screenshots have been uploaded of what is claimed to be the RTX 4090 running Time Spy Extreme, showing the GPU scoring just over 20K points.

In the pictures shared by a user at Chiphell (via @9550pro), we can see an undisclosed graphics card hitting 20192 points in the Time Spy Extreme graphics score. Although we can't say for sure that this is an RTX 4090, it's very much implied in the forum thread. If that is correct, the upcoming GPU scored about twice as much as the RTX 3090 and 78% more than the RTX 3090 Ti.

The results also show that the GPU reached a whopping 3015MHz clock speed. Considering this is likely to be an engineering sample, such a high clock speed is rather impressive. The leaker also shared the temperature data of the run, where the GPU ran relatively cool, with temperatures averaging about 65ºC in a 30ºC environment.

If you're wondering how an alleged 450W TDP graphic card can run this cool in such an intensive benchmark, it's all about the cooling solution. According to the leaker, the card is enormous and uses an air-based cooling solution suitable for 600/800W TDP GPUs.

KitGuru says: With a score of over 20K points, it's likely that we will soon have a new top performer in the Time Spy Extreme benchmark.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
