Graphics card pricing drops to new lows, but still above MSRP

Each month this year we've seen GPU prices slowly decline and availability has also started to increase. At this point, prices have dropped by another 5% over the last few weeks across both AMD and Nvidia's respective line-ups. 

According to 3DCenter's latest pricing analysis, only three Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs are being sold considerably above their MSRP: the Radeon RX 6700 XT, RX 6800, and RX 6800 XT. The most significant price decline registered since April 17th was the RX 6600 XT, dropping by seven percent.

On the Nvidia side, the RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 both dropped by 7% since April 17th, and the RTX 3090 dropped by 8%. Oddly enough though, the RTX 3050 had its prices rise by 7 percent.

Prices have continued to improve all year, but there is still lots of room for improvement. On average, the most popular graphics cards this generation are still being sold by around 22 percent above MSRP as demand continues to outstrip supply. Recently, Nvidia has been running a restocked and reloaded campaign to improve stock in some regions, and AMD is expected to launch refreshed RX 6000 series graphics cards this week.

KitGuru says: With as many as seven cards still being sold considerably above their MSRP, it's hard to say that the GPU market is in an acceptable state. However, we expect that the situation will continue to improve over the summer.
