Samsung unveils massive Odyssey Ark gaming display

There has been a huge rise in the number of large gaming displays in recent years and Samsung may have just revealed the most impressive one yet. The new Odyssey Ark is a massive, 55-inch gaming display with Quantum HDR 2000, a 165Hz refresh rate and a very capable stand, allowing for much greater ergonomic adjustment than we typically see for monitors of this size.

Packing a 55-inch VA panel with 1,056 dimming zones and 1000R curvature, the Odyssey Ark isn't your average monitor. It features a 165Hz refresh rate, 4K resolution, 1ms response time, and FreeSync Premium Pro, offering a fully-featured gaming experience. The panel has a contrast ratio of 1M:1, 1000 nits of typical brightness, 14-bit backlight and supports Quantum HDR 2000.

To complement the high-grade display, there's a 60W sound system with four speakers and two woofers, and a Neural Quantum Processor Ultra using AI to adjust image detail and colour. Moreover, it comes with an ergonomic stand that lets you tilt, adjust the height, and pivot the monitor, allowing you to put it in Cockpit mode.

Other interesting features of the Odyssey Ark include Multi View to divide the screen into up to four smaller screens and a gaming hub to access streaming platforms like Xbox Game Pass. In addition, there's Flex Move Screen to adjust the aspect ratio and screen size, a Game Bar to view the status of configurable settings and a remote control.

The new Samsung Odyssey Ark is now available to pre-order for $3,499.99.

KitGuru says: The Odyssey Ark carries a high price tag but it also offers a lot of features that you don't see in cheaper 40-inch+ monitors. This may have set a new bar for what a large-format gaming display should be, but of course, we need to see reviews first.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
