Fall Guys will become free-to-play on June 21st

Fall Guys has become one of the most popular party games, offering players multiple games in a physics-based environment where silliness reigns supreme. If you've always wanted to try it, you'll be glad to know the game will become free-to-play on the same day it releases for Nintendo Switch and Xbox.

Starting June 21st, you will be able to play Fall Guys free of charge. Those who already own the game will receive a free Legacy Pack comprising three costumes and Season 1's premium season pass. In addition to the premium season pass, there will also be a free season pass.

At the moment, Fall Guys has an OpenCritic score of 80, with critics describing it as a fun game capable of delivering hilarious moments. The game is currently available for PS4 and PC, but it will release on Xbox and Nintendo Switch on June 21st. Cross-platform play and progression is also set to be implemented across the board.

For those keen to try the game on PC, you can pre-register on Epic Games Store to earn some bonus rewards, including a nameplate, in-game currency, a pattern, an emote, and a costume. However, these rewards are bound to the number of pre-registrations.

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
