Intel confirms Q2 launch for Arc Alchemist desktop graphics cards

Today during Intel's 2022 Investor Meeting, the company gave several important updates on its product roadmaps. Most interestingly to us is the confirmation that the first Intel Arc Alchemist graphics cards will still be releasing in Q2 2022. 

We expected to hear more about the first round of Arc Alchemist GPUs at CES in January, but Intel didn't share too much officially. That should change soon, with Intel confirming plans to launch Arc GPUs for notebooks this quarter, followed by desktop graphics cards in Q2 and finally, Workstation-grade GPUs in Q3.

Currently, Intel plans to ship as many as four million GPUs this year, which as Videocardz points out, includes new Arc Alchemist GPUs, as well as DG1 and Ponte Vecchio graphics.

Some other graphics-related tidbits to come out of the meeting include plans for ‘Project Endgame', which appears to be a low-latency cloud PC service. We've also learned that Intel's 3rd Gen Xe GPU architecture, codenamed ‘Celeste' has begun development.
