Nvidia RTX 3050 performance revealed in 3DMark benchmark

With Nvidia releasing the RTX 3050 graphics card later this week, it was only expected that we would soon see the first 3DMark results being leaked. In our first look at performance, the RTX 3050 is drawing comparisons to the GTX 1660 Ti.

The benchmark scores were shared by VideoCardz, who got multiple screenshots of the results as proof. Besides performing roughly the same as the GTX 1660 Ti, we can also compare it against its AMD counterpart, the Radeon RX 6500XT.

Based on the scores we obtained in our Radeon RX 6500XT review, Nvidia's upcoming RTX card is 24% faster in the TimeSpy benchmark but only 3% in FireStrike.

Meanwhile, compared to the RTX 3060, there is a much bigger difference in performance. In Firestrike, the RTX 3060 is over 30% faster than the entry-level RTX card, but things get even worse in the TimeSpy benchmarks, increasing the difference in performance to almost 50%. That isn't that surprising when we consider the RTX 3060 comes with 40% more CUDA cores and 60% more memory bandwidth than the RTX 3050.

Nvidia is releasing the RTX 3050 graphics cards on January 27th with an MSRP of $250/£239.
