Gran Turismo 7 patch rebalances in-game rewards following backlash

Last month's launch of Gran Turismo 7 wasn't as successful as anticipated. The game quickly drew criticism for its always-online requirement, microtransactions and in-game rewards balance. Polyphony Digital announced plans to rebalance things in a new update and this week, that update finally arrived.

As announced last month, the latest Gran Turismo 7 patch rebalances the in-game economy, increasing rewards for completing races, increasing the number of non-paid credits each user can hold at once, and giving all early owners a boost in credits to help them buy their next car.

With these updates in place, players shouldn't have to put quite as many hours into the game to obtain new vehicles, which should also ease up some of the criticism around the game's premium in-game currency packs. Unfortunately, the game does still require an internet connection to play and an offline mode has not yet been announced.

Following patch 1.11, some new positive user reviews can be found on Metacritic, although the game's overall user score has not recovered from last month's wave of negative reviews.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
