One Piece Odyssey JRPG coming later this year

Bandai Namco had great success in 2020 with Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, a new take on the series aiming to give fans a full RPG experience. Now, it seems that One Piece is getting similar treatment with One Piece Odyssey.

Today, Bandai Namco announced One Piece Odyssey, a new JRPG coming in 2022, featuring an original story penned by series creator, Eiichiro Oda. The game promises to be “an epic drama adventure which both One Piece fans and JRPG fans can experience and enjoy”.

Speaking on the game, producer Katsuaki Tsuzuki, explained that we can expect side quests, main quests, dungeons and more while travelling around with the Straw Hat crew. As you would expect, characters like Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Frankie and Brook will appear and be playable.

The game starts when the Straw Hats are caught up in a huge storm and end up on a mysterious new island. The game will release later this year for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

KitGuru Says: There's still a lot we don't know about this game, but it has the potential to be the best One Piece game to date.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
