Halo Infinite becomes most played Xbox Game Studios title on Steam

Following a surprise launch yesterday evening, Halo Infinite has already gone on to become the most played Xbox Game Studios title on Steam, wiping out the record that Forza Horizon 5 set just a week ago.

Forza Horizon 5 just had the largest day-one launch of a game in Xbox history, attracting 4.5 million players on release day across PC and Xbox consoles. We don't know how many players Halo Infinite Multiplayer has attracted on Xbox yet, but we do know that the game on Steam peaked at over 272,000 players on its first day.

This is the largest peak concurrent player count for any Xbox Game Studios title on Steam. At the time of writing, there are over 131,000 players playing the game on Steam right now.

This number doesn't reflect the full player base, as Halo Infinite Multiplayer is also free to pick up on the Xbox Game Pass app on PC, the Windows Store, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and its also available via Xbox Cloud Gaming as well.

Halo Infinite Multiplayer is technically in beta right now, but all content is already in the game and the first multiplayer season and battle pass are live. The full game, with the campaign mode included, will be launching on the 8th of December.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
