New World will have an open beta next month

Last month, we had the chance to play a good chunk of Amazon's upcoming MMO, New World, in closed beta. Now, with the game's release date just on the horizon, Amazon has announced dates for the game's open beta.

The closed beta was limited to pre-order customers, but the upcoming open beta will be free for anyone to try. The beta will be running from 3PM BST on the 9th of September until 8AM BST on the 12th of September.

Alongside the open beta announcement, Amazon also revealed a new trailer for the game during Gamescom Opening Night Live last night, setting up the broader storyline with a mix of cinematic and in-game footage.

After the open beta, Amazon's New World is expected to release on the 28th of September, following a several week delay that pushed the game out of August. If you want to know more about New World, be sure to check out our closed beta impressions, HERE.

KitGuru Says: I'm still looking forward to New World, although the last delay did come as a bit of a shock. Are many of you planning on checking out the open beta next month? Or will you be waiting to dive in fully at launch?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
