Outer Wilds expansion ‘Echoes of the Eye’ announced

Back when it first came out, Outer Wilds swiftly entered Game of the Year discussions, impressing players and critics alike. Now in a surprise announcement, the developers have revealed the first expansion for the game – Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye.

Annapurna Interactive and Mobius Digital announced the expansion this week, promising to be the game's “final campfire tale”. A small reveal trailer has also been uploaded, although it is pretty thin on details:

The synopsis for the expansion does give us some clues on what to expect: “A strange satellite photo that can’t be explained. A new museum exhibit that marks the trailhead for one last journey into the wilds. Should you pull at the thread and unravel the solar system’s deepest secret, or is some knowledge better left in the dark?”

We don't have to wait long to get our hands on this new content for ourselves. Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye is due to release on consoles and PC on the 28th of September.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
