Epic Games announces “#FreeFortnite” merch

There’s no denying that Epic Games has gotten creative when it comes to the lawsuit regarding itself and Apple, vis-a-vis the removal of Fortnite from the Apple App Store. While Apple has remained much more quiet on the situation, Epic Games has made sure to let it be known that Fortnite needs to be ‘freed’. As such, fans who have sided with Epic Games can now show their support through official “#FreeFortnite” merchandise.

In a collaboration with Neff headwear, fans can “join the battle & grab the limited edition drop” of #FreeFortnite merch. The merchandise in question includes a number of short and long sleeve t-shirts as well as a face mask – all of which are adorned with the very resolute “Free Fortnite.” slogan, alongside the logo of the Fortnite llama, stylised similarly to the classic Apple logo.

The merchandise is priced between $12-$28 and tells prospective buyers to “join millions of fans in the battle to #FREEFORTNITE with this [merch item].

As mentioned, this isn’t the first time that Epic games has gotten fans involved in this legal dispute. Upon the initial removal of Fortnite – following the implementation of Epic’s own payment system in the game, breaking App Store Terms of Service – the publisher launched a video both in-game and online which mocked Apple’s iconic 1984 advert.

While the issue of Apple vs Epic Games is clearly a legal one and will be resolved through the legal system, it is clear that the Fortnite creator is turning this into something else entirely; much more than just a legal lawsuit.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
