Dean Hall, creator of DayZ, has announced a new game called Icarus

Dean Hall is mostly known for his work on the DayZ mod for Arma 2, and the DayZ standalone game. After stepping away from the development of DayZ, Dean Hall founded Rocketwerkz studio, which is now developing a new free-to-play survival game called Icarus. The game was shown to the public during this year's PC Gaming Show.

Icarus is a multiplayer co-operative survival game where the player is sent on missions in an alien world. In this world full of resources, you will be free to “explore, survive and make your fortune” in time-limited missions. The resources gathered during these missions will be used to improve your character and create new technologies, allowing you to take on longer and harder missions for even better resources.

Depending on your mission, the environment changes. Food, oxygen and water availability, and different weather conditions and wildlife are some things players should take into consideration when planning on starting a new mission. You'll also need to pay attention to the time you have before your ship leaves, and plan accordingly, or you will be left behind.

The minimum system requirements for Icarus are the following:

  • OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2400/AMD FX-8320 or better
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 670 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or better
  • DirectX: Version 10
  • Storage: 50 GB available space

Icarus is planned for a 2021 release. You can learn more about Icarus on the official website and on Icarus' Steam page.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
