Intel’s hiring spree continues as Chris Hook joins to lead discrete GPU marketing

Intel has been on quite the hiring spree lately. Towards the end of last year, we saw the chip giant bring Raja Koduri on board to lead work on discrete graphics. More recently, we saw Jim Keller brought in to help out on the CPU side of things, and now, Intel has picked up another former AMD employee, Chris Hook, who had a very high position in AMD's marketing department.

Chris Hook announced that he would be leaving AMD earlier this month, after many years working in PR for the company. Now over at Intel, Hook will head up discrete graphics and visual technology marketing, which is a new area for Intel to be jumping in to.

Intel has been quiet on the subject of discrete graphics recently, and it could be a while before the company has anything to show off for the enthusiast audience. Either way though, it is clear that Intel has big plans in motion and we'll be watching with keen eyes.

KitGuru Says: Intel has snapped up a big names recently, all of which helped bring AMD to the point it's at today. It's certainly an intriguing time to be a tech enthusiast.
