LG’s latest monitor boasts a 240Hz ultrawide OLED panel

LG's lineup of OLED gaming monitors is expanding again. Following on from the announcement of its 27-inch OLED gaming display, the company has now announced a new 45-inch ultrawide OLED monitor, complete with a 240Hz refresh rate.

The LG UltraGear 45GR95QE-B is LG's new ultrawide gaming monitor, packing a 45-inch curved OLED panel with 3440×1440 resolution, 0.03ms response time, and 240Hz refresh rate. Like all OLED panels, the contrast ratio is pretty high, sitting at 1,500,000:1. Other panel characteristics include 10-bit colour depth, covering up to 98.5% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut.

On top of supporting AMD FreeSync and G-Sync, the monitor also features a black stabilizer, Dynamic Action Sync, multiple picture modes for different types of content, and gaming overlays such as crosshair and FPS counters. The monitor also comes calibrated out-of-the-box, but you can tune it yourself via True Color Pro hardware calibration.

For connectivity, there are two HDMI ports, a DisplayPort, a 4-pole audio jack (DTS HP:X) for sound and microphone combos, a SPDIF-out port, and two USB-A 3.0 interfaces. Like the 27-inch models, it has the same hexagon-shaped RGB lighting strips on the back. Additionally, it comes with a remote control and a stand that lets you adjust the height, tilt and swivel. The monitor is now available at select US retailers for $1,699.99.

KitGuru says: Considering its price, this isn't the kind of monitor that we'd expect to see flying off the shelves. Still, as far as specs go, it does seem to be very impressive.
