Samsung reveals next-gen Odyssey gaming monitors

Samsung showed off its 2027 Odyssey gaming monitor lineup this week, headlined by a new 720Hz G9 ultrawide with an upgraded 5th Gen OLED panel. That's not the fastest monitor coming though, as Samsung also has an 1100Hz Fast IPS monitor on the way.

The flagship 49‑inch Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SJ) is billed as the first DQHD display to reach 360Hz. It uses Samsung’s fifth‑generation QD‑OLED panel with a peak brightness of 1300nits and a 0.03ms GtG response time. A dual‑mode option lets users switch between native DQHD at 360Hz or DualHD at up to 720Hz.

The 32‑inch Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SJ) adds Triple Mode support, allowing the panel to run at UHD 360Hz, QHD 520Hz or FHD 680Hz depending on the game or performance target. It also includes Samsung’s glare‑free coating, DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification and USB‑C connectivity with 98W power delivery.

For a larger curved option, the 42‑inch Odyssey OLED G7 (G75SJ) arrives with a 4K 1000R panel with a 165Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms response time. Meanwhile, the 27‑inch Fast IPS Odyssey G6 (G60H) pushes refresh rates further, offering up to 1100Hz in HD or 600Hz in QHD through dual‑mode. Samsung expects the G6 to launch in the second half of 2026.

KitGuru Says: The Samsung Odyssey monitors have always looked impressive. Do any of you own one? Are you thinking about upgrading?
