Samsung updates its gaming monitor lineup with new Odyssey Ark and the Odyssey Neo G9 57″

Alongside Gamescom this week, Samsung has introduced two new entries to its gaming monitor lineup: the Odyssey Neo G9 57″ (G95NC) and the Odyssey Ark 55″ (G97NC).

The Odyssey Neo G9 57″ is meant to provide a breakthrough visual experience for gamers with its massive screen. Featuring the world's first Dual Ultra-High-Definition (DUHD) screen and a suite of high-speed networking choices, the upcoming monitor has already won the Best of Innovation Award at CES 2023.

The 1000R curvature in the 57″ 32:9 screen is as wide as two 32″ UHD displays, surrounding players with screen area. The Quantum Matrix Technology in the screen drives Samsung's Quantum Mini LED lighting, which has smaller dimming zones and a larger number of dimming zones compared to other monitors. As a consequence, the screen distinguishes between bright and dark regions more clearly, with high contrast and less blooming.

Samsung's new ultrawide monitor has been VESA DisplayHDR 1000-certified, suggesting that brightness can at least peak at 1,000 nits. Moreover, the monitor features a 240Hz refresh rate, a 1ms GTG response time, and supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. In addition to a VESA-certified DisplayPort (DP) 2.1, the Odyssey Neo G9 57″ has an HDMI 2.1 interface and a USB hub, allowing gamers to connect all of their gadgets. Features such as PiP and PbP allow several inputs at once, which is then complemented with Auto Source Switch+ to connect to additional devices without switching input sources. Core Lighting+ RGB LEDs can be found on the back, controlled via CoreSync technology.

Samsung is also launching a revision of the Odyssey Ark, introducing new features geared towards connection, ease of use, and performance. Like the original, the monitor will have a 165Hz refresh rate and a 1ms GTG response time.

As for the new things, the Odyssey Ark (G97NC) will support a new Samsung Multi View, which allows users to view up to four inputs on the screen at the same time. It also considerably improves split-screen capabilities, allowing players to have complete control and convenience on a single screen even while utilising external devices. Users may see input from three HDMI ports as well as the DP 1.4 connection concurrently in this mode. The new built-in KVM switch turns the Odyssey Ark into a single command station for multitasking across different devices with just one mouse and keyboard.

The Samsung Odyssey Twitch channel is commemorating the debut of the Odyssey Neo G9 57″ with a special event called Odyssey Evolves in August and September. Throughout the event, streamers will be playing the latest games on the Odyssey Neo G9 57″ and giving away prizes for their followers, including a $10,000 gaming setup featuring the Odyssey Neo G9 57″. The Odyssey Neo G9 will be available for pre-order at Gamescom 2023, while the Odyssey Ark 2023 will be available in September.
