Latest Chrome beta will show which tab is making noise

Don't you just hate it when you have a bunch of tabs open and one of those tabs starts making noise? Well that can still happen, but actually finding the culprit is going to get a lot easier as Google has shown off in its new beta version of Chrome.

Google's new tweak will put icons on the tabs doing certain things. A speaker will appear for the tabs playing audio, you'll find corresponding icons for tabs using your webcam or mirroring to Chromecast. You can test this out now with the Chrome beta 32.

There were extensions for this sort of thing before but usually they didn't work that well and scored low ratings on the Chrome store.

Some other improvements to Chrome were also listed:

• Tab indicators for sound, webcam and casting
• A different look for Win8 Metro mode
• Automatically blocking of malware files
• A number of new apps/extension APIs
• Lots of under the hood changes for stability and performance
