If Bethesda is known for one thing, it’s featuring a ton of bugs in its games. Luckily, dedicated modders have for years kept the likes of Fallout 4 stable with countless mods, bug fixes and other optimisations – a majority of which were recently broken thanks to Fallout 4’s controversial Anniversary update. Just a few weeks later and a double-edged sword of an announcement has been made, with Fallout 4 set to receive yet another update which many fans have not been asking for.

2018 was a massive year for Bethesda Game Studios, with the team not only showing off Starfield for the first time during their E3 presentation, but also giving fans their first teaser for The Elder Scrolls VI. In the 7 years since, we’ve received little-to-nothing regarding the next Elder Scrolls, with Bethesda’s Todd Howard now claiming that the much-anticipated title is “still a long way off.”

Just under 10 years ago, Fallout 4 officially released to the world. While the game is far from perfect, it resonated with millions thanks to its sandbox-like design and focus on exploration among other ancillary additions (such as the settlement mechanic and base building). As they have done with many of their previous games, Bethesda has now officially announced Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition – bundling the base game alongside its DLC and hundreds of user-created mods.

We first caught wind of Bethesda's unannounced game, SpyTeam, thanks to a Zenimax trademark filing in 2022. The game has disappeared from headlines since 2024, but that finally changed this week with new trademark filings. 

Following its release through the beta branch earlier this month, the May update for Starfield is finally available for all to download.

Since its launch on Xbox and PC back in 2023, Bethesda Game Studios have sporadically released pretty substantial updates for Starfield – adding a few much-requested features, as well as some which should have been there at launch. Following on from November’s patch, Starfield has gotten another update which is now in beta -- bringing notable Creation Kit improvements.

With every major Bethesda game comes a flurry of mods and typically, one of the most installed mods is an unofficial patch that fixes bugs that have persisted in Creation Engine games. There were heavily-downloaded unofficial patches for Skyrim, Fallout 4 and soon, Starfield will join that list. 

To cap off the Xbox and Bethesda showcase this evening, Todd Howard took to the stage to properly introduce us to Starfield. We got a full 15-minute gameplay demo, giving us a look at new planets, game mechanics, character creation and more.
