Intel 11th Gen. Tiger Lake – benchmarks!

Graphics and Games Tests

Our 3D Mark Fire Strike chart clearly shows the 96 Execution Units in Intel iris Xe do a fine job while the elderly Vega 8 GPU in Ryzen 7 4800U is somewhat less inspiring. We fully expected that Intel Iris Plus with 64 EUs would sit at the bottom of the chart but we also anticipated that AMD would beat them comprehensively when in fact the margin is quite tight. Tiger Lake looks impressive!

And then we have charts for four games in quick succession, all using 1,920×1,080 resolution and Medium Image Quality. The takeaway is clear as Tiger Lake can play these at 30fps or slightly higher while Ryzen 7 tends to be closer to 20fps. It is safe to say that Tiger Lake should be able to deliver a pleasant gaming experience at 1080p on battery, and while that is impressive it is also a reasonable expectation that GeForce MX450 will perform even better.
