RTX 3080 Ti rumoured to launch in January

A new report suggests that Nvidia will launch the RTX 3080Ti in January 2021. The alleged specifications of this new SKU have already been leaked, and based on them, it will rival the AMD Radeon RX 6900XT.

The report comes from HKEPC, which also stated that the suggested price is $999, rivalling the Radeon RX 6900XT. As per this report, the RTX 3080Ti is allegedly very similar to the RTX 3090. The RTX 3080Ti will feature the GA102-250-KD-A1 (GA102 GPU) with 10496 CUDA cores, the same as the RTX 3090. Remaining specifications such as RT cores and Tensor cores are expected to be the same as the RTX 3090 given that they have the same amount of CUDA cores.

Memory configurations are a bit different, with the RTX 3080Ti coming with 20GB of GDDR6X memory across a 320-bit bus, while the RTX 3090 features 24GB of GDDR6X on a 384-bit bus.

If all of this proves to be accurate, then the RTX 3080Ti should have a better price to performance ratio compared to the RTX 3090. This would also provide tough competition for the Radeon RX 6900XT.

KitGuru says: Do you think Nvidia will launch an RTX 3080Ti so soon? Would you be tempted to pick one up over a Radeon 6800XT or an RTX 3080?
