Lexar NS200 480GB SSD Review

PCMark 8’s Consistency test provides a huge amount of performance data, so here we’ve looked a little closer at how the NS200 performs in each of the benchmarks test suites.

Adobe Creative Cloud

The drive gets hit hard during the Adobe CC phases of the test with the worst drop in performance coming in the seventh degradation run of Adobe Indesign, where the bandwidth plummets from 300MB/s to 132MB/s – although it does recover quickly. Although the best recovery performance comes in both Photoshop test runs, it's very erratic.

Microsoft Office

In the Office part of the test, it's usually the MS Word trace that causes most stress to the drive and although that happens with the NS200, it also doesn't handle the PowerPoint trace very well either.

Casual Gaming

There's no alarming results from the casual gaming tests. The World Of Warcraft trace starts at 166.57MB and finishes the test run at 203.60MB/s, averaging 191.01MB/s for the whole test. The Battlefield 3 traces starts at 206.50MB/s and finishes the run at 231.88MB/s, averaging 226.25MB/s for the test.
