The ASUS Chromebox 2 ships in an image-free, black box. ASUS' logo and slogan are visible from the front.
Inside, there are two more boxes. The black box houses the Chromebox itself, plus accessories. Inside the brown box is the bundled keyboard and mouse.
Starting with the Chromebox's accessories, there are 3 different guides that come inside – a quick-start guide, a user manual and a warranty card.
Alongside those manuals is a VESA mount (100 x 100mm) as well as the necessary screws to install the Chromebox to the VESA mount.
Lastly, there is a small, square power brick.
Bundled with the Chromebox 2 is a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse kit. Both operate using a single USB receiver, saving you from needing separate receivers for both the keyboard and mouse. ASUS also include the necessary AAA batteries – a nice touch, as often manufacturers do not bother with the batteries!
Though the keyboard and mouse are nothing special, they do get the job done and are very portable. It is good to see them included as it means you have everything you need to get started with the Chromebox – it is also appreciated considering the price of less than £200, too.
