Leakers offer a ton of updates on Xbox games coming to PS5

For a little over a year now, Xbox has been bringing an increasing number of its previously-exclusive titles to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation. With even more titles said to be on the way, notable leakers have now offered updates on the likes of Starfield, Halo and more coming to PS5.

As part of the Xbox Two podcast, known industry insiders RandAlThor and Tom Warren spoke on a number of upcoming Xbox games set to come to PS5.

Of course, Microsoft themselves have confirmed that Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones and The Great Circle are coming to PlayStation soon. According to Rand however, Forza was originally planned to release last year, with the insider claiming: “the Forza Horizon 5 thing was supposed to happen last year too but it didn't.”

This makes some degree of sense as its PS5 release being so close to both Indiana Jones and DOOM The Dark Ages did seem somewhat odd.

Perhaps more interestingly, Starfield – which has been rumoured to be coming to PS5 – was supposedly planned to launch on Sony’s console last year, with Tom Warren stating “they were originally going to do it [the port] with that expansion [Shattered Space] and then I don't know what happened there”. According to Warren however, “they have been working on it for a while so it should be ready (for later this year when the next expansion drops), ‘should be’ being the key word.”

Finally, according to the duo, the long-rumoured addition of Halo to PlayStation still seems to be going ahead, but perhaps not in the way fans expected, stating: “I don't know if it's, going to be a collection in the sense of you know, not like [the Master Chief Collection] as it exists right now yeah. I wouldn't think of it (sic) of every game, probably the most uh the most I can say right now.”

While relatively vague, it seems as though Microsoft might be bringing Halo to PlayStation one game at a time. Though this may disappoint some, The Master Chief Collection took years upon years to become a fun and stable port/remaster and so perhaps Microsoft simply wants to avoid any similar issues. We will have to wait and see.
