Razer Blade 15 Review (i7-8750H & GTX 1070 Max-Q)

Testing and Performance

When testing the Blade 15, we compared it directly to both configurations of the MSI GS65 we have tested, as well the Gigabyte Aero 15XCyberpower Tracer III and PC Specialist Recoil II. All five comparisons laptops use the i7-8750H processor, while the graphics varies between full-fat GTX 1060s and GTX 1070 Max-Q models.

As the Blade 15 lets you choose between the ‘balanced' or ‘gaming' profiles, we opted for the latter to get the best possible performance from the machine.

Testing and Performance overview

There's no doubt that the Blade 15 performs very well for a laptop of its spec – it is consistently faster than its rivals across the board, be it in 3DMark or when playing the likes of Far Cry 5 and Ghost Recon Wildlands.

When we get to thermals on the next page, however, there is more to discuss in terms of CPU clock speeds – but for gaming at least, the Blade 15 excels.
