Guild Wars 2 is finally coming to Steam next week

Back in 2020, ArenaNet announced plans to finally bring Guild Wars 2 and its expansions to Steam. The update was eventually delayed and things went quiet. Now, just in time for the MMO's ten year anniversary, a Steam launch date has finally been announced.

Guild Wars 2, complete with its base game content and more recent expansions, will be available on Steam starting from the 23rd of August. The Steam launch will bring a complete edition bundling the game and all of its expansions, as well as separate purchase options for the base game and expansions individually.

Originally, Guild Wars 2 was set to arrive on Steam ahead of its most recent expansion – End of Dragons. It is unclear exactly what caused such a lengthy delay, but the game will now be available through Valve's platform in time for the game's fourth expansion, which is currently in development.

The original Guild Wars was available on Steam, while also having its own launcher. Guild Wars 2 on the other hand has only been available through its standalone launcher on PC since launch. With the move to Steam, the game will potentially find millions of new players.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
