ViewSonic’s latest monitor offers affordable high refresh rate gaming

ViewSonic's Omni Gaming line of monitors is getting a new addition this month. The new Omni VX2418C delivers high refresh rate gaming in an affordable package.

The monitor features a 24-inch 1080p MVA panel with 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms MPRT. It's a budget panel, so there is no HDR, but the monitor does support FreeSync Premium and Nvidia GPU users can turn on G-Sync Compatible mode.

In case you don't have a dedicated audio system, it's worth noting this monitor packs 2x 2W speakers. Moreover, there's an HDMI port, a DisplayPort and a 3.5mm audio jack. Unfortunately, the included stand doesn't offer much adjustment, allowing for a small degree of tilt. However, you can mount the monitor to a VESA arm to improve ergonomics.

The ViewSonic VX2418C is hitting the market this month at just $159.99.

KitGuru Says: The VX2418C looks like a decent budget display on paper. Are you shopping around for a new monitor? Would you prefer multiple budget displays for a dual or triple-display setup over one higher-end monitor?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
