Nvidia launches GeForce RTX 3050 desktop graphics cards at CES 2022

For a few months now, we've been hearing rumours that the RTX 3050 will eventually make its way to desktop. Now today at CES 2022, Nvidia has made it official, announcing the RTX 3050 desktop graphics card, providing a new entry point for the RTX 30 series.

The RTX 3050 is the new entry-level GPU based on the Ampere architecture, packing 2nd Gen RT Cores for ray-tracing and 3rd Gen Tensor cores for DLSS – for VRAM, you get 8GB of GDDR6 memory.

Board partners already have this GPU in hand and are preparing custom-cooled solutions for launch on the 27th of January. One of those board partners is none other than PNY, with an XLR8 Gaming RTX 3050 REVEL graphics card on the way for launch.

This graphics card will feature a dual-fan cooler, although a single-fan cooled option will also be available. The XLR8 Gaming model also comes with Epic-X RGB lighting.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 graphics cards will be available starting on the 27th of January, with prices starting at $249.
