Nvidia GeForce GTX 1630 reportedly pushed to June

Previous reports claimed Nvidia would announce and release the new entry-level GTX 1630 this month, but that's no longer the case. A new report states the launch has been pushed to June 15th, so it seems we'll have to wait a little longer to see if the rumours are true.

According to Videocardz, Nvidia has now organised the GTX 1630 launch for the 15th of June at 2PM BST. Availability and the announcement are supposed to arrive at the same time.

Previous rumours indicated that the GTX 1630 would replace the ageing GTX 1050 Ti, but according to apparent benchmark leaks, the new card might not match up in performance. The GTX 1630 is expected to ship with a TU117-150 GPU with 512 CUDA cores and 4GB of GDDR6 memory. Assuming this is accurate, that means it will feature fewer CUDA cores (512 vs 768) than the GTX 1050 Ti, as well as less memory bandwidth (96GB/s vs 112 GB/s).

According to leaked FireStrike and TimeSpy benchmark results, the GTX 1050 Ti is 17% faster at 1080p in FireStrike. Moving on to FireStrike Extreme 4K, the difference increases to 48%. Lastly, in TimeSpy, the 1050 Ti was 8% faster.

It's unclear if the GTX 1630 will have a worldwide launch or if it will be exclusive to select regions.

KitGuru says: This isn't shaping up to be the most exciting launch of the year, but it is also worth noting that nothing is official yet. We should  have all the information we need in a couple of weeks time.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
