Intel Alder Lake K-series desktop CPUs specs have leaked

As the launch of Intel's Alder Lake desktop processors approaches, more detailed leaks have started to surface. The latest of these details the K-series SKUs, including the clock speeds of each core cluster, the amount of L3 cache as well as the PL1 and PL2 values.

The leak was shared on Zhihu (via @davidneco25320) and is based on qualification samples that were reportedly sent to partners. The processors listed in the leak are the Core i9-12900K, Core i7-12700K, and Core i5-12600K. These three processors share the same PL1 and PL2 values, which are 125W and 228W, respectively.

The supposedly 12th Gen Core flagship processor, the Core i9-12900K, will come with 30MB of L3 cache. The P-core cluster (big/performance cores) clock speeds will peak at 5.3GHz (1-2C), reducing to 5.0GHz when using all 8x P-Cores, while the E-Core cluster (small/efficiency cores) will be able to reach 3.9GHz (1-4C), but only 3.7GHz on all 8x E-Cores.

As for the Core i7-12700K, which features 25MB of L3 cache, 5.0GHz clocks speeds will be achievable when using 1-2x P-Cores, reducing to a maximum of 4.7GHz on all 8x P-Cores. The E-Cores on the i7 processor will boost only 0.1GHz less than the i9, but only on 1-2x cores. When using all 4x cores, it should boost up to 3.6GHz.

Last but not least, there's the i5-12600K with 20MB of L3 cache. The P-Core cluster can boost up to 4.9GHz on 1-2x cores and 4.5GHz on 6x cores. The E-Core cluster turbo boost is further reduced in this SKU, reaching up to 3.6GHz on 1-2x cores and 3.4GHz on all 4x cores.

Intel Alder Lake desktop processors are expected to hit the market by the end of this year, supporting DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0.

KitGuru says: 5.3GHz clock speed sounds great – but as always, take these rumours with a pinch of salt.
