Nvidia RTX 30 Super series laptop GPUs rumoured for early 2022

About a year after Nvidia released the RTX 20 series, the company refresh the line-up with the RTX 20 Super variants. Based on this, Nvidia may do the same with the RTX 30 series, and according to a new rumour, that should happen early next year for the laptop GPUs.

The rumour from @greymon55 reinforces last month's spotting of the RTX 3080 Super and RTX 3070 Super Laptop GPUs on the spec list of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme G4 despite not being available yet.

Not much is known about these graphics cards besides the memory configurations. In Lenovo ThinkPad's listing, the RTX 3070 Super was said to feature 8GB of GDDR6 memory, and the RTX 3080 Super was said to have16GB of GDDR6 memory.

As for the GPU, considering the RTX 3080 Laptop GPU already uses the full GA104 die, it's hard to imagine how Nvidia could make a superior SKU using the same die. Perhaps the RTX 3080 Super laptop GPU would jump up to a GA102 die, or Nvidia could use a new die like GA103, for example.

The GA103 GPU has been reported by multiple leakers even before the release of the RTX 30 series. As per these reports, the GA103 GPU would feature 60 SMs, 3480 stream processors (6960 CUDA cores), a 320-bit memory bus and up to 20GB of GDDR6 memory. There's an obvious difference between the memory listed in these early GA103 reports and the memory listed in Lenovo's more recent listing, so there may be other revisions.
