Acer announces trio of high refresh rate, UHD gaming monitors with HDR

Acer is releasing three new gaming monitors: the Predator X28, the Predator X38 S and the Predator CG437K S. Each of these monitors is aimed at a specific niche of gamers, offering high refresh rates, Ultra-HD resolution, HDR support, and low response times.

All of these Acer monitors will be available later this year. The Predator X28 will be the first to release, scheduled to launch in August and priced at $1,299.99/€1,199. The Predator X38 S will follow in September, priced at $1,999.99/€2,199. Lastly, the Predator CG437K S is coming in November for $1,799/€1,599.

As for the specifications, the Predator X28 is a 4K monitor with a 28-inch Agile Splendor IPS panel with a 155Hz refresh rate and 1ms G2G response time. This monitor is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified and supports Nvidia G-Sync and G-Sync Esports Mode and Nvidia Reflex Latency Analyzer.

Moreover, this monitor has Acer LightSense, ColorSense and ProxiSense to automatically adjust the colour based on the environment's lighting, and Blue Light Shield Pro to reduce blue light emissions. All this while maintaining a ΔE<1 colour accuracy.

The Predator X38 S is an ultrawide curved (2300R) monitor with an Agile-Splendor IPS panel boasting a 3840×1600 resolution, 175Hz refresh rate, and 0.3ms G2G response time. Covering 98% of the DCI-P3 colour space, this monitor has a VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification and comes factory calibrated with a ΔE<2.

Like the Predator X28, the X38 S features Nvidia Reflex Latency Analyzer and Nvidia G-Sync Esports Mode, but instead of standard G-Sync, it supports G-Sync Ultimate. It also features Acer LightSense and Acer ColorSense to adjust brightness and colour automatically and a set of Predator Game modes to choose from.

Last but not least, there's the Predator CG437K S, a G-Sync compatible monitor with a 43-inch panel and 2x HDMI 2.1 ports for 4K 144Hz gaming with VRR enabled. There's also a USB hub with a pair of USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, a USB-C port, a KVM switch, and synchronisable RGB strips.

Thanks to its 1,000nits of brightness, the monitor has been VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified. Additionally, it's also said to cover 90% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and come with a ΔE<1 colour accuracy out-of-the-box. Similar to the Predator X 28, it comes with Acer LightSense, ColorSense, and ProxiSense to adjust the monitor settings by itself.
