Marvel’s Avengers and Borderlands 3 are free on PS Now

Each month, Sony adds a number of games to its lineup of PlayStation Now titles. The subscription service is most similar to Xbox’s Game Pass, with titles joining (and some leaving) on a regular basis. For the month of April, subscribers can get their hands on a number of major games, including Marvel’s Avengers.

The games being added to PlayStation Now this month are:

  • Marvel’s Avengers
  • Borderlands 3
  • The Long Dark

The headlining title for this month is Marvel’s Avengers. Available until the 5th of July, subscribers can play through the entire campaign, as well as the live-service elements of the game including its DLC – the most recent of which added Hawkeye and the ‘Future Imperfect’ storyline (with future DLC including Spider-Man on PlayStation and Black Panther).

Borderlands 3 is the most recent entry in the much-enjoyed Borderlands series. Developed by Gearbox, the game received positive reviews from critics, with a major point of improvement for this game being its gunplay, giving the wacky weapons an even better feel. Borderlands 3 will be available on PlayStation Now until the 29th of September.

The Long Dark is a “thoughtful, exploration-survival experience that challenges solo players to think for themselves as they explore an expansive frozen wilderness in the aftermath of a geomagnetic disaster,” and is a permanent addition to the service.

It is worth noting that while both Borderlands 3 and Marvel’s Avengers normally offer a free upgrade path to their PS5 versions, as noted by PushSquare on PlayStation Now only the PS4 versions of these games are available. While disappointing for some PS5 players, the PS4 versions of both games still offer plenty, both graphically and content wise. Still, this limitation is unfortunate nonetheless.

KitGuru says: What do you think of this month’s line-up? Do you own a PS5? What do you think of the decision to limit the games to their PS4 versions? Let us know down below.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
