MSI introduces Console Mode to its QHD monitors

PS5 doesn't fully support displays with QHD resolution, but MSI has the perfect solution for that. MSI is bringing ‘Console Mode' to its 1440p monitors, allowing you to play in a QHD resolution by downscaling a 4K signal to a QHD resolution, but only on a certain set of MSI monitors.

The number of console players using monitors instead of TVs has been growing. Unlike TVs, a decent percentage of monitors feature a QHD resolution, which isn't supported by the latest PlayStation console. This leads to a sub-optimal gaming experience where games are displayed at FHD on QHD displays, reducing the visual fidelity.

To solve this problem, MSI is adding a Console Mode to some of its monitors with QHD and UWQHD resolutions. Instead of upscaling the FHD content to QHD, the MSI monitors will be able to downscale the 4K content to QHD while also supporting HDR.

Here's the list of MSI monitors compatible with Console Mode:

MSI hasn't shared any details regarding availability yet.
