Computex: Opening Ceremony and first award winners

Computex doesn't officially kick off until tomorrow but as is tradition, today TAITRA and the TCA held a ‘pre show' conference, going over the five key themes for Computex this year. The pre-show also brings us a sneak peek at what is coming and some of the award winning technologies on display this year.

This year, Computex is set to be bigger than ever, with a 10.5 percent increase in pre-registered booth buyers and visitors compared to 2016. During the pre-show today, it was announced that more than 1,600 exhibitors would be in attendance this year, covering a total of 5,010 booths. The main themes of Computex this year include:

  • Gaming & VR.
  • AI & Robotics.
  • IoT Applications.
  • Innovations & Startups.
  • Business Solutions.

Already, six international judges have gone over 255 of the new tech products heading to Computex this year and have handed out 77 awards in total. So far, Cooler Master's Master Case 6, G.Skill's Trident X RGB and the Gigabyte Brix have all won awards. As has ASRock with its Z270 SuperCarrier motherboard, CRYORIG with its new Taku PC case and ASUS with several new laptops, its ROG Maximus IX Extreme motherboard and ROG GR8 II PC, which we will have a review of very soon.

KitGuru Says: We have boots on the ground at Computex this year so expect to see plenty of coverage from us over the next few days.
