AOC’s latest AGON monitor is QHD, 165Hz and supports FreeSync 2 HDR

AOC has had quite the year when it comes to gaming monitors, with new high refresh rate, HDR displays being announced consistently over the course of the year. As we enter the final months of 2019, AOC has another AGON series monitor to add to the roster, this time with 1440p resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, FreeSync 2 and HDR.

The AOC AGON AG273QX gaming monitor has been announced today. This is a 27-inch VA panel with support for 122% sRGB colour coverage and a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz for ultra-smooth competitive gaming. FreeSync adaptive sync is also supported, which now works across both AMD and Nvidia GPUs for tear-free gaming.

In terms of response time, you are looking at 1ms moving picture response time, or 4ms GTG. Finally, this monitor is also certified for DisplayHDR 400, meaning you get 400 nits of peak brightness for HDR content.

The monitor comes with AOC’s popular 3-side frameless design for a flat, minimal bezel look. The monitor stand mount is VESA 75×75, so you should be able to easily transfer this over to your own monitor arm. If you do stick with the stock AOC stand though, then you will get pivot, swivel, tilt and height adjustment. The stand also has a handle at the top for easier transportation.

The AOC AGON AG273QX should hit retail in November, with the MSRP set at £439.

KitGuru Says: We will hopefully be getting one of these in for review so keep an eye out for that. Are any of you looking for a monitor upgrade? Does AOC’s latest offering match your spec Wishlist?
