Earlier this summer, Nintendo finally announced plans to roll out Switch 2 editions for the Xenoblade Chronicles trilogy. These titles had severely diminished graphics on the original Switch hardware, but the new upgrades bring updated textures, 4K resolution and support for 60FPS. 

The Elder Scrolls Online team has published a major update on its future roadmap following recent layoffs at ZeniMax Online Studios. With ESO entering a new era of seasonal content earlier this year, fans were concerned that the studio’s downsizing might impact development. Now, ZOS has outlined its new roadmap for ESO moving forward, which does include some content delays, but overall, not much has changed. 

Rockstar appears to be gearing up for new Grand Theft Auto 6 reveals. The official GTA 6 website has remained dormant since pre‑orders went live last month, but over the past day, the site has been updated repeatedly, suggesting that Rockstar’s marketing push may be about to ramp up through August.

Xbox has had an increasingly large presence at Gamescom in recent years and 2026 will be no different, with the company set to showcase first-party titles like Gears of War E‑Day and Fable, as well as major third-party titles like Metro 2039 and even Alien Isolation 2. 

Double Fine is one of several studios that recently split from Xbox earlier this year. Now operating independently once again, the studio has announced a round of layoffs as it adjusts to its new financial reality.

Subnautica 2 has enjoyed a very strong launch period, with publisher Krafton confirming that the game surpassed 5 million copies sold just a few weeks after release. Capcom has reported another strong quarter, driven by continued sales of Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata. Both titles are performing extremely well, with Requiem surpassing 8 million copies sold and Pragmata reaching the 2.5 million sales milestone.

One major change coming in the next Monster Hunter Wilds patch makes more of the game enjoyable offline, with Capcom now removing the online requirements for Event Quests and Challenge Quests for the first time.
