The best PlayStation game of all time comes to PS Now for a limited time

PlayStation Now is the Sony equivalent to Xbox’s Game Pass service. Despite launching years before Game Pass, PlayStation Now suffers from a much less exciting line-up of games each month. Though October’s list does feature some heavy hitters, it still falls far behind in the quantity of quality – with one exception.

For the month of October, fans can look forward to playing:

  • The Last of Us Part II
  • Fallout 76
  • Desperados III
  • Victor Vran: Overkill Edition
  • Final Fantasy VIII Remastered
  • Yet Another Zombie Defense HD
  • Amnesia: Collection

Xbox Game Pass is adding almost the same amount of games just in the first half of October, including major day-one releases such as Back 4 Blood. Still, the line-up of PlayStation Now games shouldn’t be dismissed (especially as it is much cheaper than Game Pass).

The Last of Us Part II may have launched to some controversy back in 2020, however it still managed to become the most awarded video game of all time, with more than 300 Game of The Year awards. The last of Us Part II is a phenomenal game, and so if you have not played it, its inclusion with PlayStation Now is a major boon for the service. Unfortunately, The Last of Us Part II is a limited addition, being available only until the 3rd of January. While this is certainly enough time to play the game, the fact that PlayStation continues to add first party games for a limited time is frustrating to say the least. That being said, The Last of Us Part II is worth every penny, and so it does make sense that the console manufacturer would want to keep their IP as premium releases.

All of the other games are permanent additions to the service, and though none of them are brand new, they represent a solid month for PlayStation Now. It will be interesting to see whether Sony ever revamps the service in any major way.
