You may have caught our coverage of The Gadget Show Live's press day here and here, but we also soaked up the excited atmosphere of the ‘public event' that was attended by many thousands of people from a variety of age groups.
No further introduction is required, so let's get viewing pictures from The Gadget Show Live 2013.
We make no mistake about covering the OverclockersUK stand first; the company had, by far, the best exhibition, from a computer hardware enthusiast's point of view anyway.
The OverclockersUK gaming zone allowed excited Gadget Show Live attendants to show off their skills using some of OCUK's finest custom-built systems and high-end Asus peripherals.
Laptops and tablets formed the portable gaming area, which consisted of Angry Birds on an Android-based handheld device and DiRT Showdown running on MSI's GT70, our review of which can be found here.
Powered by an OCUK ‘Ultima Scarab Crysis' system, the EyeFinity-equipped racing zone was a big hit amongst visitors wanting to taste the experience of steering from a consumer-level driving simulator.
Representing OCUK, ‘8 Pack' was using an Asus-powered system and liquid nitrogen cooling to push a Core i7 3770K to the dizzying heights of 7GHz.
Some alluring deals were available at the OCUK stand; including a sub-£100 Sapphire 2GB 7850 and a healthy discount a SteelSeries Siberia v2 gaming headset. Visitors who picked up one of the product flyers were also treated to further discounted products and a free delivery code for use on the website.
Hardware galore, OverclockersUK was showing off some of the most popular items from each hardware category. Two huge shelves were home to some of the highest performance, and most unique, computer cases on the market, including Lian Li's PC-CK101SB Mini ITX ‘Train Case' which wasn't much larger than the promotional flyers.
The friendly staff members were keen to show interested enthusiasts around the inside of OCUK's custom-built systems.
Showcased in specific manufacturer booths, high-end video cards, such as EVGA's GTX 690 and KFA2's GTX 680 LTD OC, grabbed a large amount of attention from hardware enthusiasts.
Not to be outdone by nVidia's board partners, the Sapphire booth was flying the flag for AMD graphics hardware with the manufacturer's ultra-fast 6GB Radeon HD 7970 Vapor-X GHz card.
The MSI booth was filled with motherboards and custom-cooled graphics hardware, including the company's flagship AMD video card – the HD 7970 Lightning.
Asus also had a booth filled with some of the company's most appealing graphics and motherboard solutions.
Phanteks' colourful CPU cooling and case fan products were easy to identify, thanks to their eye-catching designs.
Kingston's memory and storage products were being showcased.
While not quite as eye-catching as their Phanteks counterparts, the Prolimatech coolers were drawing some attention from interested overclocking fans.
OCUK was also showing off its motherboard bundles which cater for a variety of markets, from Mini ITX users to full-sized ATX overclockers.
Alienware, Scan and Lenovo were all showing off systems from their respective product lines, while Microsoft was keen to give visitors a chance to use as much of the company's new software and products as possible.
Alienware's busy booth was filled with excited visitors wanting to play games on some of the finest systems that Alienware has to offer, including the up-to-date and powerful M17x laptop, one of which was up for grabs.
Alienware machines were also being used in the gaming zone where participants were competing for some noteworthy peripherals as prizes.
Lenovo's considerably-sized stand was packed full of laptops, ultrabooks and tablets from the system manufacturer.
Star of Lenovo's show was the huge ThinkPad tablet which had users impressed by its size and ease-of-use.
Scan used its stand to highlight the performance benefits of an SSD, as opposed to a HDD, in a modern system. Coupled with a powerful 3XS system or mid-range laptop, many users were shocked by the performance gains that could be achieved by converting to an SSD.
The enormous Microsoft stand was a hive of activity from start to finish. Home to tablets, laptops, ultrabooks, desktops systems, Xbox 360 consoles and gaming stations, Microsoft's software was everywhere and many visitors were enthralled. A Scan 3XS G30 system was being used to give visitors an opportunity to play Microsoft Flight on an impressive setup.
The slightly smaller areas occupied by Cooler Master, SanDisk and Roccat were also heavily populated from start to finish.
The bustling Roccat booth gave visitors the chance to play games using some of the company's finest peripherals, including the Kone Pure mouse and Hire gaming surface.
The systems at Cooler Master's stands were generating a large amount of attention as visitors admired the cases and tested the peripherals, which included CM Storm's Ceres-400 headset and Recon gaming mouse.
SanDisk's booth consisted of a trio of consumer-level racing setups which were hooked up to systems powered by the Ultra Plus SSDs. The visitor who could record the fastest lap in DiRT Showdown would be rewarded with £200 of vouchers.
Red and black in colour, SanDisk used the Ducati motorbike to create an analogy with the speeds of its SSD products.
Western Digital was showcasing its consumer range of internal and external HDDs, as well as networking and media products.
TP-Link's networking products were grabbing a large amount of attention, especially the high-performance AC1750 802.11ac wireless router.
NAS and dock products from Freecom were on show.
Competitors in Epic Games' ‘Make Something Unreal Live' competition were using large Asus monitors and powerful systems housed in Cooler Master's HAF X nVidia Edition chassis.
Sony was showing off an 84″ 4K resolution TV which has a price tag of £25,000! Mobile and entertainment gadgets and products were also on display inside the Sony bus – an area which blocked off to the show's visitors.
A huge 1080P TV from Finlux was grabbing a lot of attention, thanks to the eye-catching images it was displaying.
WD's entertainment centre consisted of the company's media player and streaming devices, as well as portable and network attached hard drives.
Game's stand was packed with shelves full of video games which were available to purchase – some of which could be played at the stall.
Turtle Beach was showcasing its line-up of gaming headsets.
Kick Energy was promoting its drink product with a Tomb Raider-themed display.
Volkswagen had a huge area which allowed visitors to test drive and experience the automated parking technology equipped on some models of the new Golf. An array of sensors allows the vehicle's systems to detect and steer the Golf into a parking gap; all the driver has to do is control the car's speed.
Citroen had a pair of cars at the event: the DS5 and DS3.
Revere London sent a £95k Range Rover that was customised with a Jet Set audio system.
Vibe Audio's customised Ford Focus featured a back seat and boot full of speakers.
Alpine also had vehicles which were equipped with a boot full of speakers.
Many games and racing simulators were at the event. Visitors could challenge the top spot of numerous leader boards, winning prestige and prizes.
A paintball-firing heavy machine gun was on display.
Acer's prize box was accompanied by a large queue from the beginning to the end of the day. Catching 3 red token was enough to earn a goody bag, while 10 reds was worthy of an adrenaline-fuelled experience day. Differentiating the flying red tokens from the silver and blue alternatives was a deceivingly-tough task; the number of red tokens I caught added up to a big fat zero!
While the press day may have soured a few appetites and left some editors identifying a sense of laziness from certain companies, the public day that I attended was filled with excited visitors who seemed to be having a good time.
Many companies made an effort to attract and impress the enthusiastic visitors with their latest-and-greatest products. There was a clear sense of excitement from visitors of all ages, from children to middle-aged adults.
While previous events may have had more stalls or extra effort from companies, The Gadget Show Live 2013 was an enjoyable day out for tech-minded and gadget-loving people of all ages.
