Galaxy GTX 460 GC 768MB Review

The tests were performed in a controlled room with temperatures maintained at a constant 23c – a comfortable temperature, not too cool, not too warm.

Idle temperatures were measured after sitting at the desktop for 30 minutes. Load measurements were acquired by playing Crysis Warhead for 30 minutes and measuring the peak temperature. We also have included Furmark results, recording maximum temperatures throughout a 30 minute stress test. All fan settings were left on automatic.

Overclocking the Galaxy GTX 460 GC beyond the factory clock speeds only raised our temperatures by a couple of degrees Celsius across the board. These results indicate that the cooling design used by Galaxy is capable of what we asked from it. It is not the quietest cooling solution available but it does the job maintaining decent temperatures even after 30 minutes of Furmark.

  2. Well this came out of the blue! I have heard a few good things about these boards and deservedly so by the looks of it. seems like a radical design well done. Nice review Steve, enjoyed reading this one.

  7. Wish more manufacturers would let you remove the fan like this, I know powercolor did it on one of their cards recently but it was a crappy ATI 5770 I think. this is much more like it. Do they make a 1GB version of this?

  10. this is rather good for being one of the makes we normally laugh at. pricing is also excellent, but I wouldnt touch a 768mb card. maybe 1gb. good on a budget however.

  12. I have just bought this card and i think it is just amazing for the price range that it is in. it has great overclocking potential e.g. standard clock 675mhz vs good overclock 850mhz. So galaxy has lived up to its name to let only the products that meet the “GALAXY” overclocking mark through to its production.
