Sony is announcing something PlayStationVR related soon

It looks like Sony has begun sending out press invitations for an event in San Fransisco next month, at which Sony will be talking more about PlayStation VR and likely making a few announcements. At this point, we have pricing and release dates for both the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive so now Sony might be ready to swoop in and finally show its hand after months of rumours.

The event will be taking place on the 15th of March so we still have a few weeks to wait but it will be an interesting one to follow, especially if Sony has a price and release date in mind already.

Alternatively, Sony could also be using this opportunity to show off its launch library of virtual reality games for its headset, similarly to what Valve did last month with its SteamVR showcase.

So far, Sony has been pretty tight-lipped on when PSVR is coming though we do know that the headset itself has been finished for a while, with Sony now just biding its time to ensure a solid launch library of games. According to GameStop's CEO, the headset will be releasing in the Fall which contradicts earlier forecasts that claimed the headset would launch over the Summer.

KitGuru Says: PlayStationVR has the potential to really grab the masses if it hits the right price point, especially when you consider just how popular the PS4 is. Either way, it will be interesting to see what next month's event brings.
