Alan Wake II looks to be demanding – PC system requirements revealed

Alan Wake II is on the cusp of release. We already know that the game will be ambitious from a technical standpoint, as Remedy has implemented a range of ray-tracing and Path Tracing settings. It is also the second game to support DLSS 3.5, which features ray-reconstruction technology. Now, the full PC system requirements have been announced and it looks like we are in for a pretty demanding game.

The PC specifications shared by Remedy include both rasterized and Ray Tracing/Path Tracing settings. A powerful graphics card, such as the Nvidia RTX 4070 or AMD Radeon RX 7800XT, is required to play the game at 4K/60FPS. However, note that's with DLSS/FSR Performance Mode. Fortunately, CPU requirements are much lower, recommending something like a Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel equivalent.

It's worth noting that Remedy made no mention of AMD GPUs for the game's Path Tracing Mode. As a result, even if you have a powerful AMD GPU, such as the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, it may not produce high framerates for smooth gameplay. For Medium/PathTracing/1080p at 60 FPS, Remedy recommends an Nvidia RTX 4070 and DLSS 3 Performance Mode (most likely with Frame Generation on).

Regardless of the settings you plan to use to play Alan Wake II, it's always recommended to have an SSD with 90GB of free storage space. Alan Wake II will be released on October 27th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
