ViewSonic’s latest gaming monitor delivers 4K at 150Hz and supports next-gen consoles

ViewSonic has recently introduced a new monitor to its portfolio, the VX2882-4KP. From the outside, it looks like a standard office monitor, but taking a look at the spec sheet reveals key features aimed at high-end gaming. 

The VX2882-4KP packs a 28-inch SuperClear IPS panel with 4K resolution, 1ms MPRT response time and 150Hz refresh rate. Featuring an 8-bit (6-bit + FRC) colour depth, the IPS panel of the VX2882-4KP offers a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and 300nits of a typical brightness. These specifications allow it to cover 90% of the DCI-P3 gamut, 87% of the NTSC spectrum and 122% of the sRGB colour space.

Thanks to HDMI 2.1, this monitor also supports the PS5 and Xbox Serie X/S, so you'll be able to play supported games at 120Hz. To further improve your gaming experience, the VX2882-4KP also supports AMD FreeSync Premium, so screen tearing should not be an issue. Additionally, the monitor can play HDR10 content and features multiple game modes to choose from and customise. Like most monitors nowadays, it uses flicker-free technology and has a blue-light filter to prevent users from harming their eyes.

For I/O, you get an HDMI 2.1 port and two DisplayPort connections. You will also find a 3.5mm audio jack, 2x USB-A 3.2 ports, a USB-C port with DP alt mode, a USB-B 3.2 upstream port and 2x 2W internal speakers.

The included stand allows for height, pivot and swivel adjustments, but it also supports VESA 75 x 75mm mounts for third-party monitor arms. For now, the VX2882-4KP is only available in Japan, priced at $830.
