KitGuru Annual Awards 2013

While there is still no better way to impress your friends than by unveiling a 40KG monster of a rig that looks like you nicked it from the Death Star, here at KitGuru we have a special place in our hearts for the ‘small is beautiful' brigade.

We have seen and tested a load of Mini ITX and Micro ATX cases over the past 12 months, but one unit stood out a mile.

On 11th October 2013, our in-depth analysis of the Aerocool Dead Silence chassis went live and – shortly thereafter – we were told that stocks had run low and more were being ordered in from the Far East.

No wonder. It is a great chassis in so many ways.

Despite the relatively small size, it can take almost any combination of components and cooling that you can throw at it – and it does so very quietly indeed. The unique design and use of very high quality fans meant that even when benching, it didn't emit above 34 dBA noise.

Then there is the gorgeously touchable coating that sets it apart. It has the kind of high-quality suede feel (largely pioneered by BitFenix in the past), and it offers that coating in several colours – perfect for times when you want your rig to match your life style.

Finally, we have the price: You can find this chassis on sale for less than £70 in most stores and at a smidgen under £65 if you're lucky in some.

Read our review, over here.

KitGuru's choice for the Best Small Chassis 2013 is the Aerocool Dead Silence.
