Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI Motherboard Review

box-1 box-2

The front of the motherboard's packaging shouts out the product name and also features Heroes of the Storm game branding.

A closer look at features and specifications is found on the rear of the box.

bundle

Given the board's entry-level pricing for a SLI-certified part, the comparably healthy bundle is surprising.

Gigabyte includes four SATA cables, which is great to see. Completing the bundle are a basic rear IO shield, a black SLI ribbon, and Gigabyte's G-connector device for easily connecting front panel cables.

docs

The standard set of documentation is supplied – a user manual, driver CD, and case sticker. A Heroes of the Storm branded door hanger and leaflet are also provided.

PlayStation head of 3rd party claims “There are no dire times for the industry ahead”

The past few years in particular have felt pretty bleak for the video games industry, with the rise and fall of countless live-service games creating volatility, while the influx of gen-AI has led to continuous price hikes across the board. Despite all this, the head of 3rd parties at PlayStation ‘Christian Svensson’ has claimed that “there are no dire times for the industry ahead as far as I'm concerned.”

  1. I fail to see how this board is slower than the other 2 as the frame testing is within margin of error.

  2. When one activates the XMP profile it automatically activates a memory stability option that should be set to normal to regain those 10Gbps extra. I don’t remember exactly how that option is called but just search for a memory related option that says “compatibility” or “stability” and switch it to “normal” instead.
